- ● 8 ounces Kretschmar Off the Bone Ham, sliced thin
- ● 8 slices Kretschmar Baby Swiss Cheese
- ● 1 12-inch loaf soft Italian bread
- ● 2 medium yellow onions, sliced thin
- ● 4 tablespoons olive oil
- ● 2 to 3 slicing tomatoes, cut into thick slices
- 1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook
- for 5 minutes, until translucent. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring
- occasionally, until onions are beginning to caramelize, about 40 minutes.
- 2. Meanwhile, split the bread lengthwise, and drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- 3. Gently toast in a 350°F oven until bread is warmed through and lightly crispy, about 5
- minutes.
- 4. Layer the ham, cheese, onions, and tomatoes inside of the sub.
- 5. Serve and enjoy.
